Need a part for TC Hawken

Gentlemen, Thank you for the offers and info. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and it never dawned on me to contact T/C. I've sent them an electronic dispatch, and will keep you posted on the outcome. D.J. Bogle

Need a part for TC Hawken

Hope this is acceptable place to post this. If not, feel free to move it. I need a ramrod retaining spring for a .54 TC Hawken. It's that little bitty spring that's mounted on the barrel at the ramrod entry hole. Numrich lists it but are sold out. Anybody know of a source? Thanks for any help.

    How destructive is a 32 cal ?

You asked about 'yotes with a .32, so I'll chime in. I popped a 'yote with my Crockett a few years back, about 30 yds with 15 gr. of 3f and a PRB. Hit him dead in the lungs. He ran about 75 yds, stood there for a couple of minutes, then got the stumbles and went down. By the time I had...

    Minnie-balls in .58

It's a Euroarms Zouave, and I've seen on this forum where they sport a 1:48 twist.

    Minnie-balls in .58

I've always been a round-ball fan, but I ran across a minnie-ball mold for my .58 and decided to give it a whirl. The mold is a Lee .575 dia., 500 gr. Question is, do you lube these things, and if so, what do you use? :idunno:

    Euroarms Zouave - Review, please?

I recently picked up a .58 cal. Euroarms Zouave. I scanned this segment of the board but couldn't find a review. Have any of you had any experience with this particular weapon? It is my intent to use a PRB for hunting, probably a .562 dia., and I'll work on the charge as soon as I get a...

    .32 for squirrels?

I use a Traditions Crockett Rifle, .311 PRB, 15 gr. of FFFg. Plenty of thump for squirrels, and I put a 'yote down with it last year, although it didn't dispatch him as quickly as I would like. He ran about 75 yd. before he kicked out.

    T/C Hawken

Cowpoke, if'n you was talking about the full buckhorn, I like it! I ain't the best at dove-tailing, and I like the idea of screws holding it in place. I'll probably go with that and a blade front sight. Many thanks.

    T/C Hawken

I picked up a .54 T/C Hawken last week on a trade. She's in excellent shape, and I plan on totin' her to the deer woods, but I've never cared for the bulky adjustable sights. Anybody ever put fixed sights on one? Any suggestions?

    Wood Stock for "Mountain Hunter"

I picked up a "Mountain Hunter" from a guy at work for next to nothing. It's a .54 cal., with a busted plastic stock. Shootable, but busted. I've built a few long-rifles, and a ML shotgun, so wood-working isn't foreign to me, but I was wondering if there's a fairly compatible commercial stock...

    Hello from TN

Howdy! Sherwood, TN here. There's a lot to learn here. I don't post too often, but I visit a couple of times a week just to check things out. What type of front-stuffer are you looking at?

Tree Rats with my Crockett Rifle

After spending most of Saturday sitting in a tree watching squirrels and turkeys, and swatting skeeters, I decided to go after them fuzzy-tailed little rascals this morning. I took Lil' Bit 9my Crockett .32) and hit the woods at daylight. Connected on my first shot, missed one, hit again...

    Davy Crockett Days

I've participated in it a few times. They always have good events...woodswalk, knife and hawk, skillet toss for the ladies, and kids games. They used to be fairly lenient about historical accuracy as far as clothing and accessories, but I always tried to remain fairly close. And yes, it gets...

    Tennessee Gobbler

She's home-made, built from spare parts. I call her "Ol' Ugly", and wouldn't take $1,000 for her. The barrel is off of a 12 ga.,36" full choke H&R, which I re-choked by jug-choking. The lock is a L&R Durs-egg that I got on a trade for a possibles bag that I made, the trigger and iron furniture...

    Old/New Guy

Welcome aboard. You've been in it long enough to know that there's lots of good firearms out there, both factory and hand-made. I'm partial to my home-made pieces, but I've got a few factory-made weapons that I enjoy shooting.

Glad to have you aboard. How's T-town? I was down there below Moundville a month or so back hunting pigs.
