That’s quite a rock Ed. It looks like wood kinda in the picture.

Sorry about no squirrels. I’m surprised you saw any in the wind!
Funny thing is, I was leaning up against a smaller one beside it trying to get a shot at a squirrel. It too, has some unique characteristics. I didn’t even notice them for about 10 minutes or so.

No one can ever convince me that the big guy upstairs doesn’t do good work.

That is on a steep hillside (imagine that, ole ETipp being on such) and it appears that, that large boulder had rolled down the hill at some point and what you were looking at used to be the bottom side. At least that’s what I’m thinking. I suppose it could have broken off from another chunk up higher and that was in the center of them.

Interesting rock for sure. My thoughts are you never loose when out hunting or just being afield. Me I got to spend a beautiful day at work while my buddy sent pictures of him out hunting. Just a few choice words back to him😁

Well fellas, looks like I’m a failure once again. Went to the woods this morning on a squirrel hunt/deer scouting mission and came up empty handed once again. It was overcast with light rain and gusty winds. What few squirrels I saw were up in tress and I was not able to get a shot. Not the first one was on the ground. I really needed a good squirrel because it’s been so long now, but it wasn’t meant to be.

I did find this big boulder about the size of a Volkswagen, maybe a little smaller that is very interesting. This time I happened to have had my cell with me so I could use it as a card reader for my trail cam. So, I decided to take a few pics to share with ya’
all.

This will probably have to take up a few posts to get them all.View attachment 359412View attachment 359413
Very unusual. Petrified stump?

Didn't get to go Wednesday but made it out to the woods for a bit this afternoon. Took the .40 out this time. It's a Cherokee with a Douglas barrel and weighs next to nothing. A pleasure to carry. Saw no squirrels at all but did have four deer pass by pretty close. No dumplins but still a good trip to the woods.
