Any chance we'll see powder from Goex in 2023 ?

I've been shooting Scheutzen for the past ten or twelve years. I didn't switch for any other reason than Scheutzen was a supporter of local activities. But I've already pre ordered 5# of Goex so I'll decide about it then.

Where does 32 to 36 a pound come from? 🤔
I had saw that typed here on one of the Threads. Heck maybe it will be $40 a lb. I find this whole thread to be just that. It seems that we as Americans tend to buy products from where ever its made at by the Companies here wanting our samolians for their big profits. Tell me your cell ph. is made here , lol.

Please tell me what is made here. Look at the label on whatever you're buying. It says Made in China, India, Pakistan... How many products do you see Made in the USA?

The day will never arrive when I pay a 30 percent premium, or more, for a Made in America label.

I may be in for 7%.

But the product needs to be as good or better than the Made in Europe label.

No one should expect Americans to go broke just because Lady Liberty can't pull her head out of her azz in the manufacturing sector.

That was my point , Black powder made in America. ML shooters were just the gravy Goex picked up. They did not really care if we ever had black powder to hunt with. ML's & all the Hobby is just is. what it is a Hobby. Myself all i need is another dz. lbs. of black powder to last me the rest of my shooting life. So what i had planned was save my rat holed powder, then just buy as i can my monthly use as i find it.

I don't think I commented anywhere about buying it because it's made in America. If that were my thing I wouldn't have been using Scheutzen for so many years. In fact, I didn't buy Olde Eyensford when it was supposedly only second to Swiss because of price!
Bring back Elephant powder! Not….
Yeah, they blew up several times and apparently never improved product or safety. They even blew up a sugar powder operation 😒

I understand, i was just making a general statement about many saying American buy American.

I see.

Chinese movement into dominance in manufacturing got started back when Nixon opened trade relations with China in the early '70's. But don't think they did it all by themselves. American manufacturing jumped at moving to China and the top brass got rich and continue to get richer. There's no going back for those guys.

I would buy everything American made if it was possible but it's also contingent on my $$$. In retirement here. Can't afford to be a super patriot consumer.

*STOMP, STOMP, THUMP, THUMP*
Well If I Can't Buy It From My Local Store Across The Street Then I Ain't Gonna Buy It At All!

I can't drive half way across the country to buy it!
I can't order five to ten pounds to make shipping worth it! Heck, three pounds would last me a lifetime!

If I'm not worth it to them to stock it local within reach then I don't need it, I won't buy it, it's probably garbage anyway and their going to charge $55 a pound for it, I'm not paying that!!

WHY IS THERE NO POWDER AVAILABLE?!!? IT'S BECAUSE OF ALL THOSE HORDERS WHO BOUGHT IT BEFORE THE SHELVES WENT EMPTY!! IT'S THEIR FAULT I DON'T HAVE ANY POWDER, AND I'M NOT GOING TO BUY ANY WHEN IT DOES COME BACK!

..

Geez, I really gotta learn to just ignore some of these threads.
Come to think about it, I better check my pile and see what I should order this month to keep me Primed and Loaded 😉

Careful, you might blow out an aorta. 🤣

I just googled three source that have powder in stock.

Shipping and hazmat just facts of life. Buy 25 pounds and share it with the local rebels who refuse to buy it. Two dollars a pound extra is perfectly reasonable for your troubles.

No manufacturer has or probably ever will have local outlets.

One word; Pyrodex.

The inventor of Pyrodex was blown up in his own factory.

Can't blow out my aorta, I already have it bypassed with three stints (true, no joke)🤣

Looks like I am good on powder for now; got GOEX, OE, Schuetzen, Swiss, even some DuPont and...OMG, where did that pound of Elephant come from?!!? Yup, I got 2F, 3F, even 4F.
I got #11 caps and even #10 caps, and a good stash of flints in three sizes.

All that from a guy who got into this sport in a state that has No 'over the counter' stores to buy from.....when people cry "Shortage!", I say "Where?".
I even keep my unmentionables and cleaning supplies well stocked....which does remind me; I need to go pick up some more cotton flannel before the hoarders beat me to it!

I fully understand Goex filling their government contracts but wish they would at the same time dedicate a part of their production to us ML shooters to keep some limited supply available until they can do both,
That is the best reply on this that I've read yet. ^^^^^

However, I doubt it will happen, especially with the money laundering, cesspool, Ukraine war going on.

The sad fact of the matter is, we are nothing to Estes. Much more profitable and easy supplying the government with powder. You can bet one thing for sure, if we were as profitable as the government, Estes would find a way to supply us with powder. In fact, I do not put it past the government to make sure it remains that way. When it comes to the government, I don't trust anything.

To be clear. I have no disdain for Estes and I am not brand loyal with BP. Just stating the facts. Considering BP is, and most likely never again will be available at any public store or shop in this area, any powder purchases will be online orders only. And you can count on the fact that with all the new fandango inlines, subs will be the only powder one can get locally.

So it matters not to me if GOEX ever returns or not. As of now, there's other BP to be had.

Our government-“ Oh, we need all this black powder for munitions, sorry we ruined your sport shooting!” Smirk, smirk…..
