Plus you could add some really nice pictures of lines an X’s and a few measurements etc .👍I like that idea keep it in mind it’s a really good idea and if Bill could do so can you and yours would be much better because you explain all the details.nuff said ……..
Very kind of ya bud ....

Rob you really should do a book. So many of us would benefit from it. You could dedicate it to Pryor Bill in his memory and that would be so very cool...
IMHO

Gettin there ...keep goin . The angle on the end of tang makes it want to push the barrel forward . Keep removing wood on that angle and at back of bolster until the barrel quits moving forward , dont want any gaps at the breech end of the barrel...

Ok , really close .... Be lookin for gaps at end of tang and at end of barrel . None here so far , thank goodness ... Keep going until the flat spot where breech meets barrel is level or tad below AND the inlet black on barrel bottom is show on wood channel in stock .... Dont worry if tang is level , unless its BAD high ...I just file it down flush later ....IF tang is way too high you have to bend tang down a bit more then start inletting it deeper . You dont want a thin tang , on any gun rifle but esp .a trade gun where the tang screw comes up I to tang and tang is threaded , strength .... Keep on bedding , gettin close ....

Find the spots you want your pins to be on the stock. Where pencil is pointing in both pics . One in forearm., but forward for more strength , and one lug up front , I put it right in front of the front pipe .... ,mark the positions on the barrel , wire wheel bottom of barrel at those spots ....clean up face of lugs and bend slight round to them ...

Soldered the lugs on . They faught me a bit . The solder wouldnt flow , had voids on the tangs , weak spots , but redid them , all good . File ends of lugs flat . I went ahead and polished inside of barrel , bore is like a mirror now ...

Inlet black on those lugs , start inletting the lugs until the barrel is back to bed ... Then measure barrel depth on side , lug locations , and clamp barrel down ... Drill the barrel pin holes and pin them ...
