Thanks to all for the great feedback. I think I'd be more comfortable having a replacement serpentine made to lower the arc of the current one, rather than risking damage by bending. I have a very talented BP hobby-gunsmith locally, I'll see if it's something he'd be willing to tackle, if not I'll get back to you (Ricky) regarding your 'smith.
