Stripes do matter ! When I put my underwear on brown stripes in the back yellow stripes in the front. Worked for years

Thanks, I did skip the insides! But I wanted the brass to be nice and shinny to distract attention from the inevitable mistakes I’ll make when I start carving the stock.

Keep it polished and use bright lights. They will never see any mistakes.

Took quite a few hours to do, but I have all the Woodsrunner brass polished up. Takes a while to remove all the casting lines and scale. But they shine pretty good now.

Acquired a new 45 TC Hawken and the barrel was a patch shredder to have the cleanest bore ever. I shot pre-cut blue stripe patches with T-17 for lube. My mentor said my combo was the problem. I took a ball and some 320 grit and worked the crown over. Now back to the bench with dawn/water mix and cutting blue tick at the barrel and group shrank with no cut patches. Then tried T-17 and blue pre-cut patches with no damage to patches. Looks crown was the problem and not the lube.

I finally, finally figured out what to carve for the tang carving. A Maple leaf for a Maple stock!

I finally got the other carvings finished and after the tang carving is done, I will be getting ready to finish the stock.

(Sigh).

Just a black powder shoot this weekend. Be here 2 or 3 nights. But this is my BP club so can camp and shoot anytime.
