    :thumbsup: I agree with El Lobo, "its not good for anything"(unless you shot one) all kidding aside I have a forty that I would not trade for anything!! I use it mainly for target shooting but it holds up for small game as well as white tales in my area. BUILD IT YOU WONT BE SORRY...

    I have had good results by whiskering the wood then using 4-0 steel wool, whisker again then with final,use very fine sand paper. we usually stain and finish off withfour or five coats of hand rubbed tru oil Good Luck John

    rusty barrel??

    :grin: I had two rifles destroyed in a shop fire, all the wood was gone and only the metal left along with a lot of rust inside and out. The firemen stated that it was at least 2000 degrees in that fire soooo I purchased new stocks, straightened warped barrels, cleaned thi inside of the barrels...
