    to the chin

my lop is 15 1/2 and my trade gun has a 46" barrel for me it feels great and fits wonderfully. one of the guys at Fort Langley where i volunteer cannot look into the bore, much less load with ease. lop is not all that matters as you have the drop, cast off or on and lots of other things. one gun...

    Filling a horn?

funnel for a hip flask works great and it still works to prevent alcohol abuse by not spilling a drop when you pour the pie into your flask. just fill the powder first as rinsing a little goex into the pie has a better outcome than soaking you powder with cider. then stay out of that pie till...

    Priming from the Horn

the ride to the range is certainly the most danger we will face in a shooting day. the number of persons killed in auto accidents every year would get our sport outlawed quick if we came close to matching it.

    Squirrel hunting with BP

like the story of carry a red handkerchief and some light line. tie the kerchief in a bush and walk to the other side of the tree. wait a few minutes then pull the string to shake the bush. squirrel comes around to your side of the tree to hide from movement

    my ethical dillema

if they are fighting in your yard they are no longer wild. this is dangerous. if it is legal and you harvest ( yes it ain't hunting) 1 or 2 from your yard they will get back to being wild real quick. non wild game is dangerous

don't lay that down in the woods you will never find it. and these new fangeld camo guns think they is something new ehhh. no flash off that gun to give up your position

    I am really enthusiastic.

the shooting is great fun but the rondys are so much more. SUPER GREAT FOLKS to hang with. college level instruction on any ? you ask from several people. improve your hunting skills on the woods walks. just be careful on the apple pie offers. that stuff ain't for young ones

    Hudson Bay Blankets,,need info.

size matters little. they are real wool so storage is important. if they were not stored well they will have moth damage. 2 point or 6 if they have holes eaten in them the value is much less. have bought several from value village and one from ebay. had a little more moth chewing on ebay than...

    3F versus 2F in a .54

Herb my fiance says RED GREEN would approve of your scope mount on that rifle you was shooting.

    Got my kit in today

the first kit is scary and damn near impossible. but before the sawdust is all swept into a pile you will be onto the second one. built most of mine on the 36ft sail boat i live on. good lighting sharp files, chisels, and knives, and remember you are making the 25cents per day that you were worth...

    A flash in the pan...

use your shirttail or a dry patch to wipe that frizzen and flint before you shoot. just a little lube or dirt will reduce the sparks a lot

    pin count

when i built my rifle i put 4 pins as i have a swamped barrel and did not want to file a tab into the skinniest part of the barrel. may be why some of the old weapons had the extra pin.

    Stuck brush

hanger may scratch the inside of the barrel. like shooting hard steel shot. make sure it is a softer metal than your barrel. may need the help of a gun smith.

    Click....hissss....bang! CVA flint pistol video

may have a little to much powder in the primer pan as well. you want a spark to jump in there and it looks like the powder is burning for a while till it gets below the touchhole. 3 grain measure away from the barrel is often the best and all one needs

    Dutch Oven PC

lewis and clark returned with their cast iron dutch ovens still in inventory. and many give paul revere credit for the lip around the lid. lots of fun and great meals no matter.

    Confused about Powder Horns

my horn has the spring loaded measure end added to it by myself. i have a 15gr. end that feeds nicely into any powder measure i am using that day. for my pistol i do the finger on the end thing but then load into my measure that i carry for my rifle. the horn never touches the end of the barrel...

    3f or 4f

i prime with 4f most of the time but at one rondy the range is in heavy cover with major need for skeeter dope to avoid blood donation. kept miss firing till i wiped her clean and primed 3f from the load horn. what fun here in the PACIFIC NORTH WET
