    Kits and more Kits

Do you have a web address for the Mold and Gun Shop? I ran a web search and came up dry. Thanks, Warren :v

    Cold Steel

I have one and I love it! I took the factory fish off and browned it and did some file work along the top. I burned rings around the handle, decorated it with brass tacks and stained it dark. May not be PC/HC but it suits me. Very light and easy to throw. Warren :v

    Flax Water Bags

Thanks Bryan. I had seen those but was hoping for something a little more affordable. Warren :v

    The Frontiersman

Anyone read this book by Allan Eckert? I'm right in the middle of it, and so far I'm pretty impressed. It's a good read that is backed by a lot of research. Not dry at all. I may have to read some of his other books when I finish this one. Warren

    Bedrolls, dyes and such

Nice looking teardrop there Twice! I want to build one of those one of these days. Keith, I would have to agree about the sheepskins as long as you keep them dry. They can be pricey too. You only need one long enough to go from your shoulders to your knees. The best thing for hard ground is a...

    Brittney's first muzzleloader

    Linen or hemp strapping?

Pichou, your not a whipping boy in my book. You've never been anything but helpful to me and answer my questions without being condescending. I really do appreciate that! :applause: To everyone else, thanks for all the help! I'll get some webbing so I can make some more bags. Warren :v

    Knife Sheath Question

Wick, When you talk about pressing a sheath what do you mean? I always wet-form my sheaths and holsters to fit whats going in them. I've never made a center seam sheath so I'm not sure about where to start. Any help/ideas you have would be great! Thanks, Warren :v

    Linen or hemp strapping?

Hey Pichou I had to blame somebody! Thanks guys! I guess I wasn't running the right search. I kept putting in straps instead of webbing. DUH!! :shake: Warren

    Knife Sheath Question

Anyone have a picture of or pattern for a knife sheath like the one Wick showed with his redesigned trade knife? I really like the way it looks but want a more substantial way to attach it to a belt (No offense intended Wick!). I've seen sheaths like this before and I can't figure out how to cut...

    Linen or hemp strapping?

Okay, so Pichou has convinced me that cotton webbing isn't PC/HC for bag straps. :surrender: That leaves linen or hemp as far as I can tell and I have no idea where you get either. I've run several web searches to no avail. Any suggestions? Warren :v

    Check it out!

Davy, If you like his first book (I did too) you need to get his second one,"One Ranger Returns". My son got it for me at Christmas. Great read! Warren :v

Stupid Question-Buying a Kit Versus Parts

Thanks guys, appreciate the input. Kind of what I thought too but it doesn't hurt to ask! Warren :v

    Snapsack

I was reading the topic in the accoutrements section about the correct usage of the term haversack when someone threw in the term snapsack. A link was posted, but it didn't really tell how it was made. Anyone have some examples and or instructions on these things? Looks like it would be a very...

Stupid Question-Buying a Kit Versus Parts

I think I know the answer to this already but here it is anyway. Is it better overall to buy a kit with everything needed in it or to buy individual parts, maybe from different sources, when your making a rifle. I was thinking it might be cheaper and spread out the cost over a longer period of...
