Get all parts inlet in , fit the lock, back together , into mortice ...inlet black all over internals and on cock ...keep putting it in the mortice and working it ...remove any and all black until the lock fits back down and the lock goes to all positions , easier said than done .....long drawn out process ... With undersize bit drill out beginning of trigger slot into sear arm tunnel / hole ... Later you can put screw driver in there to work the lock ....

I'm not terribly happy with it but ...progress . The quality of these RE Davis locks keeps dropping g while the price keeps climbing . I need to get some tools to tweek some of the corners they are cutting and dial the lock in . I usually dont do work on the locks as it negates their warranty and the %$#@&% then charge me for trying to fix their &%$# ups but ...for little stuff I dont want to wait a month for the lock to return to me I need a few tools . I heard about a diamond file that can file down hardened parts , like the tumbler in this case ...wonder if thats a real tool ,thing ? Need to ask a locksmith ... Any who ...got it to " working mechanism " stage so far ...cut stock to L.O.P. and make a buttplate next ....after coffee break

The quality of every thing is going down and the prices are almost double on a lot.

Make an appropriate buttplate out of brass ...
