Grind trigger guard finials , drill holes , clean it up ....

Rough in the stock a bit more , slab off S.P. side of barrel ....

Drill tang screw / trigger guard screw hole through stock and tang , thread tang , fit screw ...

Thanks bud ... Not sure why , planets in alignment er such , but it just seems to be comin along nicely . Probably just jinxed myself !! LOL ! I'll never be able to build em as fast as them.there Canadian N.W. trade gun builders though !! MAN !! They are fast !

Ok , side plate .... I cleaned up the cast side plate , cut and ground lugs off , then drilled middle screw....make lines at front hole as shown ...line up plate , mark and puch front hole position , drill .... Dont worry about rear till later , ...I roughed in front of S.P. mortice a little with gouge ...

Ok ...with line and rough boundaries of S.P. mortice marked ...bend tail into position , centered ...and cut off excess ....these cut offs make great front sights , blades

Mark you R.R. hole depth and your rough mortice out lines , and esp.now , the height of your S.P. mortice ....you have to take this height down to what the lock mortice height is or there about ....and keep it square and flat .... A pain... Keep lookin at it from every angle as you go down ...once its to height put your S.P. back on and draw a rough border around it again and all other boundaries ....take your excess wood off to these lines ... Gouge , rat tail rasp and rasp for all this ...go slow , watch your lines ...

And the S.P. mortice borders and height is done " in the rough stage " .... it'll all be refined in the finish stage . I'll inlet it a bit shortly ... Coffee time !!

Mark your depths of R.R. channel and barrel channel ....inlet , bed , ramrod pipes , drill and pin them .... Got em done ... Time to get that forestock to roughed in
