browsed the forum. paralyzed from waist down the last two days. did i ever tell you i hate the bed when i am the only one in it?
hoping to shoot again soon.

Worked on a Fusil a bit .Got the trigger plate made , set and the tag screw etc all set up., drill T.H. and slabbed off a bit of wood along the barrel . Been wantin to get my " new ta me " forge fired up to anneal the buttplate I made for it and run a bunch of round ball in the process... Maybe tomorrow get that forge fired up ...gettin excited , just got find the time

I enjoyed showing the kids ( and adults ) the firearms of the day and the furs...
This is fun!

Another group of kids curious as to what we were carrying....

Finally decided to get out my .54 GPR and see what it would do with 30 grains of 3F BP. I was pleasantly surprised that it hit very accurately from 35 yards. I did have to lower the sight a tad to get center target POI.

I did this due to my hankering to try it on squirrels my next time out. A bit more spendy per shot but considering how darn steady that thing holds on target, I cannot resist giving it a try.

My GPR is outfitted with a Lyman 57 peep and factory front sight.

I got to run the tomahawk range at a scout outing , we had a Big time . The scouts were great ,we cheered everyone on . Everyone threw until they could stick the knife ad hawk , included the parents , pictures were taken , it was a successful day .

I had multiple hawks and knives so no one including me seemed to get bored , the knives I made held up great , I was happy with that also .

I got to do this last year but did the shooting side of it , Tomahawk range was way better , we kept things rolling , some of the kids probably threw 200 times bet their arms are sore ,

I have MS Mike and sometimes it wins the battle. Never will win the war. residual of this bout is lingering but the wife is starting to slap my hands so i suppose i am getting better

haven't done it yet but today i plan on setting up a chrono my young friend dropped off yesterday and seeing some numbers. have been curious as to the velocity difference between Swiss and my brew.

Made adjustments to the hammer. Opened up the hammer cup some. Musket nipple and musket cap awesomeness.

Cut a little detail on the ramrod tip. Mo betta.

Instead of running away from the brass trigger guard or silver plating it, I went with a Minwax Golden Oak color for the ramrod. Dark colors looked awful against the paint. Also used a solid brass bolster screw. Now the brass trigger guard doesn't look like a stand alone feature.

She's all together. Epoxy bedded from stem to stern. In few weeks I'll pour some patch lube in the lube hole and pack all the pin holes with bee's wax. Gotta let that paint cure completely.

I was afraid the barrel sticking out would look terrible. But it's perfectly acceptable. What else could I do. The previous owner was being chased by a Grizzly. He jumped over a waterfall to avoid being eaten. And wouldn't you know it, he hit the nose cap on a large piece of chert and snapped it off.

Overall, very happy with the outcome. Especially the butt end. Very comfortable. 14-1/8" LOP. Is it still a Traditions Kentuckyish POS after all this work?

Had to re-sight in my Crockett squirrel rifle. I have been experiencing an abnormal amount of misses lately while squirrel hunting. Thought it was me at first but something didn't seem right. Took the Crockett out back and test fired it a few times. Sure enough, the peep had slid down a bit and the POI was low at 25 yards.

Shooting my Remmy 1858 with home-made paper cartridges, experimenting with what various papers and fabrication methods work best for me. Might be a thread on that in the future, but I'm not done yet.

i set up the chrono, after getting it set up i discovered why someone gave it to my friend. nice little .30 half divot right across the start sunscreen!

guess i will have to be satisfied with just killing stuff. staggered out to the end of my shooting range with my 11g perc shotgun loaded with a 70g square load and got a Ruffed grouse. had it breasted and was halfway back before i remembered, no pictures, it didn't happen. so i guess i won't enjoy it baked with a mushroom sauce for supper!

One of my neighbors brought his custom l/hand long rifle over . He was shooting in the back yard , got destracted , and didn't know if he loaded his rifle or not. Checked his rifle , taught him how to ck for a load in his barrel , and made him a ball puller for his range rod. Hope I helped him , adequately.

Improved a mould, not strictly muzzle loading but the .41 projectiles are intended for my Kentucky pistol [paper patched] till I can get a ball mould.
Ground a channel between the pouring holes, have done it on others and it speeds up the process a bit as well as being more convenient.
Also got rid of a bit of rust, now to polish up a bit.

Below...this youngster really enjoyed holding that blunderbuss...

I enjoyed Kathryn's "homemade" apple sauce in a restored 1790's era kitchen this afternoon...

Its not everyday a savage, a fellar from Philly and a frontiersman can walk down the street together...

Yeah , I know where he's buried now , been there a few times but he was buried some where else then moved to be he cemetery he's at now . Was just curious if you knew the exact location of his first burial spot . Strange ....much like Daniel Boone and Jesse James , buried and moved later . Ive been to all those sights before . Just curious ....
