    First ML Deer!

Welcome back to the woods. Deer hunting and snow are ment for each other, as is bp and deer hunting. There's something special about taking a deer with a primitive weapon. Congrats!!

    Unloading after the hunt

I don't think 90 psi is enough. I used my oxygen tank from my torches without regulator and cleared the barrel. If you have access to a shop you should be able to come up with the parts to do the job. I don't know how safe this was so BEWARE. It just worked for me.

    Opening day with GM .58

Sounds like a tuff hunt there doulos. Glad to hear you stuck with it and found your deer. I love tracking and it sounds like she took you for a hike. Glad you shared your hunt with us. I'm getting one of those GM 58 cal barrels for my Renagade.

    Sling?

Wouldn't leave home without it. I've used a lace on sling from October Country for 15+ years now. I used to take it off while hunting but don't anymore. Gotten used to it I guess. It makes dragging a deer much easier being able to use both hands.

    Got my barrel today!!

What cal. did you get? And is it slow twist for prb? I've been thinking about a 58 cal. prb barrel for my Renagde. Let us know how it performs.

    Camo or Traditional

I agree with even. I bow hunt with an old compound bow. I use a sluggun or rifle during regular deer season, and my Renagade (50 cal) with prb or conical during ML season. I use a leather possiblesbag and a powder horn while wearing modern warm hightec cammo clothes with Gore-tex, thinsulate...

    Beautiful opening day morning...

Stumpkiller, I saw a bear Wednesday on my way home from cardiac rehab. He was standing next to the road saw me dropped to all fours and ran. We've had them come to our house for a couple of years now. They keep raiding our bird feeders and tearing them from the trees. I'm just a few miles...
