hummm... i'ed take knife, axe, wire, fire starter,
good boots, plenty of socks.
twine, diamond wetstone, and my .45 underhammer.
rain slicker, longjohns, several sets of gloves,
small hacksaw, small hand drill.
my bible,
hummm ???
makes me wonder ? if i was to order one of these ?
i have the old barrel off my pop's old lyman, its a .50 also. but in 1-60 twist...
buy a good lock ? how much would i have in it ?
my barrel is a good shooter, we know this barrel, just thinkin......
yep, on a 15/16th barrel, they'll only go to .54
[talked to several barrel makers]
so i bought a drop in .54 for my lyman.
just saying here..... i've also have a ..62 barrel for my underhammer on its way.
one inch flat, 36'' underhammers are pretty eazy to work with.
wow, that sure is one nice looking rifle,
like you, i love my GPR, mines a .54 too.
did you just file the the owners manual off the barrel ?
i need to do that to mine also.
yes, i have two of them. ones a .36 buggy that shoots awsome, the other i havent fired yet, is a [marked] .45
they are really eazy to clean.
take no time at all. very good rifles.
:surrender:
lol..... math ??? your kidding right ?
i hate math, i just work up a good load, and adjust sights ''if needed''.
math confuses me... lol !!!
ahh.... very interesting thread.
missouri, where i live . 40 cal, is min.
most everybody who shoots BP, that i know of use the .45 or a .50
[most common] and most are the old CVA's,
i've used my pop's old CVA .50 years ago, but havent never shot a deer more that 50 yards away.
i do have a...
dunno ? if they still make .43 or not ? but ..??
my .45 H&A underhammer , will not, take a .440 ball, way to large, got some .433's on the way.
so im guessing its closer to a .43 than a .45
well shuck's folks,
im looking around then, see if i can find someone to rebore it, if i cannot go with .58....i guess .54 will be fine.
and yes, if i see a lyman , in .58 for sale...ill buy it !
thanks for all the advise, i've tried t/c .. they dont fit me as well as my old lyman,
this is...
hello.
i haves a lyman, .50 caliber rifle, would like to find a .58 , or even a .62 barrel for it.
would even think about reboring it, wonder what that would cost ?
